What is your holiday survival rate?

The holidays are around the corner and if you’re feeling a little apprehension, you’re not alone. We've all been there—excited to spend time with friends and family but a little nervous about how to navigate the food situation and keep working towards your goals.

Holiday cheer is everywhere now. Our sweaters have gotten festive and cozy, the wine and lattes are flowing, friends and family are making plans to come together, and the party invites are arriving in full force. “It’s that time already…already?!

This time of year wreaks havoc not only on bank accounts – but especially our body! The thought of muffin-topping over my stretch pants again. How are you going to make it through another holiday season, let alone reach any goals?

I guess you will just put it all on hold until the New Year again, right!

Let’s all just take a deep breath together, shall we? There’s not a person among us who hasn’t experienced a meltdown moment or two, tantrums and entire batches of peppermint bark consumed in under an hour.

For many, this time of year can be tough – whether it’s the endless temptations, struggles with finances or the emotions we’ve tied to it all from past memories. Many people silently struggle with feelings of loneliness, depression and anxiety.

Although it’s a special, tradition-soaked, sacred time for many cultures, keeping it in perspective and backing away from the crime scene to take a breather and see the bigger picture is going to be key.

Instead of putting so much pressure on yourself to create or have the perfect holiday, remind yourself that every day is a day to celebrate just being on this planet and especially being here with your loved ones – not just a few days a year.

The quality of the TIME spent together is what it’s really about, not the gifts or your homemade Yule Log Cake (sorry nana Pattyn:))

If you love to get festive, by all means, do it up! But just make sure you have the time and that you actually enjoy the process. So instead of getting overwhelmed before it even begins, let’s get your plan in order. I’ve got all the tools you need in my private Lift Yourself LEAN FB group to help you not only survive, but thrive, during the holiday season! After all, aren’t you ready to try a new way?

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

See you in the FB group!
