The Missing Link

“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.”

Think about that for a second.

This is a quote from the New York Times Bestseller, Atomic Habits.


And it's one of the keys to helping YOU achieve results.


People seek out professional advice because they need/want behavior change because

what they are currently doing on their own isn't getting them where they want to be.


So habit change is really what you are after.

But to truly get long-term habit change, you need to go deeper - all the way down to your identity.


This can really go one of two ways.

Your identity can hold you back:

  • I don't like to exercise.

  • I'm not creative.

  • I'm not a good cook.

… or build you up:

  • I'm the type of person who doesn't miss workouts.

  • I do what I say I'm going to do.

  • I love to explore and try new foods.

As humans, we're great at tearing ourselves down.

Focusing on our weak points.

You can overcome this by focusing on building habits that reinforce you desired identity.

Focus on consistency and the results will follow.


We all need to be reminded of this concept from time to time, I know I do.
