Why “Eating Less” Isn’t Working

Fat loss isn’t about starving yourself or having more willpower. It’s about having the right strategy, and fueling your body with honesty and intention.


Which is why this week, I wanted to share a few of my favorite tips, all grounded in what I teach my clients for real, sustainable results:


Stop Skipping MealsRestricting all day or skipping meals to “save calories” actually backfires. When you don’t eat enough, your appetite rises, your metabolism slows, and cravings take over, especially for high-calorie foods.

🔥 Tip: Aim for balanced meals every 3–4 hours with protein, fiber, and healthy fat to keep your appetite stable.


Fight the “Eat Less” MindsetTrying to lose fat by eating less without understanding calorie density keeps you stuck. This isn’t about eating the smallest portions, it’s about eating smarter.

🔥 Tip: Fill up on nutrient-dense foods like vegetables, lean proteins, beans, and whole grains.


Reframe Your Relationship With FoodFat loss isn’t just about restriction, it’s about trusting your body again. The goal is to enjoy your favorite foods without fear, and learn how to fit them into your life without guilt.

🔥 Tip: Practice mindful eating — notice hunger/fullness cues and slow down at meals.


Weekends Don’t “Ruine” ResultsWeekends get a bad rap, but fat loss isn’t undone by two days of normal eating. What matters is your overall weekly pattern, not perfection.

🔥 Tip: Plan your weekend meals like you do your weekdays — balance + satisfaction first.
