Busting Down Fat Loss Myths!

Myth #1: Cardio is the Best Way to Lose Fat

Cardio burns calories during the workout . That's the truth. But the moment you stop, the calorie burn stops with it. And chronic steady state cardio (thinks long runs, hours on the elliptical) can ELEVATE cortisol over time, which is the enemy of belly fat loss.

Strength training builds lean muscle. And lean muscle keeps burning calories between sessions… at rest, overnight, while you're sitting in the carpool line.

Muscle is the currency of lasting fat loss. The Belly Blast combines targeted core work, total-body strength training, and high-intensity intervals specifically because that combination is what the research supports for reducing belly fat, cinching your waistline, and making the results last.

Myth #2: You need to workout everyday to see results

You need to MOVE everyday. But that is very different to working out everyday. Strategic rest is when your muscles actually repair, grow and get stronger. Training without the right amount of recovery leads to elevated cortisol, increased inflammation and a plateau...the exact opposite to what you are trying to achieve.

The Lean Body Project is designed with intentional recovery built in. Because the rest days are doing just as much work as the training days, just in a different way.

Now while I still have your attention...

Let's talk about hydration for a second, because this one is wildly underestimated.

Most women are chronically mildly dehydrated. And mild dehydration mimics hunger, tanks your energy, slows your metabolism, impairs your body's ability to flush out waste and metabolic byproducts, and makes every single workout harder than it needs to be.

Water plays a role in literally every metabolic process your body runs…

  • Digestion

  • Circulation

  • Temperature regulation

  • Nutrient absorption

  • Fat metabolism

All of it depends on adequate hydration.

And during summer, when you're sweating more, spending time outside, and running on busier schedules… your hydration needs go up while your chances of remembering to drink water go down.

Its about having the right plan in place for you, your lifestyle and life demands, hormonal stage of life and not feeling like you are cooking 2 meals...one for you and one for the family.

If your plan is no longer working, reply back LEAN and we can start a conversation on how I help all my midlife busy women reclaim back their body.
