DO WHAT YOU WANT, NOT WHAT YOU SHOULD!

Most people have an endless list of things they “should” do or “have” to do. Something will feel like a “should” because you don’t actually WANT to do it, but you feel obliged to do so. The trouble is in the long run, people never do what they “should” do consistently, they do what they want to do.

The most common reason things feel like a “should” is because subconsciously you think it’s going to lead to self worth and self acceptance.

Here’s one example of what that can look like: I SHOULD do this work tonight… Because if I don’t my business might fail… And if my business fails, I’ll feel like a nobody, people will talk about me behind my back, and I’ll get rejected, which means that I’m not enough… But if I succeed I’ll prove to my dad that I was right and he was wrong… Which means I’ll prove to him that I am enough… Which means I’ll finally prove to myself that I am enough… Which means I’ll finally feel at peace with who I am and my place in the world!

Now you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Option 1) You do something that you fundamentally don’t WANT to do. Which means you’re going to hate the process and the only way to raise your energy is through stress energy - using fear and threats as a motivator.

Or

Option 2) Is you don’t do it and you procrastinate. But then you have to suffer with feeling like a failure, not good enough, and low self worth.

Many people suffer for an entire lifetime never feeling good enough because they’re constantly seeking self worth from the outside in.

The truth is self worth is not something you’ll finally acquire after you become significant enough (rich enough, skinny enough, pretty enough, successful enough, funny enough, smart enough, etc). Self worth doesn’t come from the outside, it comes from the inside. Self worth is unconditional love of yourself. And love is something that you DO. You are being loving. So there is NOTHING that needs to happen first for you to just be loving. You don’t need an excuse to just be loving towards somebody else. That’s what unconditional love looks like - there are no conditions. Well it’s exactly the same for yourself. There are no conditions, and you don’t need an excuse. Sometimes people get confused that if they learn to love and accept themselves they’ll never be motivated to lose weight, or change anything else in their life. Nothing could be further from the truth!

Firstly, you can’t “hate yourself skinny”!

It never works that way. If you don’t love and accept yourself you’re inevitably going to sabotage yourself over and over again because you’re in emotional suffering 24/7 and you’re going to find a way to numb the pain. Secondly, when you love and accept yourself you have emotional stability and you’re not constantly triggered by your environment or other people. So now you’ll find yourself consistently making choices that are aligned with your values, what you’re committed to, and what you’re excited about because you’re no longer in survival mode. Lifelong body transformations go from self love to even more self love, not from self hate to less self hate!

Love yourself, be yourself, live your most fearless, confident and strong life!
