When I read this article I knew I had to share as every single one of us experiences fear to some degree and we have all had fear of something hold us back.
Take it away Jon...
Danger is real, but fear is a choice. Fear is simple, irrational, and made up.
I’m going to deconstruct fear so that you are no longer crippled by it.
Not knowing what to do isn’t why you aren’t putting your amazing self into the world. Fear is.
Right now, in 105 words, I will set you free from fear by defining it.
What is Fear?
Fear is an irrational response to the unknown. You fear because you do not understand. When you do not understand, your mind makes up scenarios leading you to believe that bad things that cannot possible happen, will most definitely happen.
What does this mean?
You must define the problem.
"Named must your fear be before banish it you can." – Yoda
How do you banish fear?
Fear will cease to exist once you make the unknown, known.
After defining the problem, identify the worst case scenario that could result from you taking action. If you’re OK with it, and you usually will be, fear disappears and action follows.
"If you wish to put off all worry, assume that what you fear may happen is certainly going to happen." – Seneca
You’re awesome, my friend, now go do something great.
